Florida’s fallen law enforcement officers, including a Putnam County corrections officer who died on the way to work last year, will be honored next Tuesday in Palatka.
Putnam County Parks & Recreation Department Director Kevin Stevens pulled a black drape off of a new sign Tuesday and unveiled a new name for an East Palatka park.
Palatka officials will consider a slew of important items, including plans for a large development project and possible renovations at a community pool, at Thursday’s city commissioners meeting.
The inmates were exultant as they entered Putnam Correctional Institution’s chapel Saturday, greeting the long line of volunteers with grins, hugs and boisterous chatter.
A Palatka classic event brought more than 80 sailboats to the riverfront this weekend for the 68th Annual Mug Race.
